We seek to build relationships and partnerships in underserved communities and countries to enhance medical capacity for those in need of sight restoration. We believe that the most effective way to achieve this goal while ensuring high-quality eye surgery and excellent post-operative outcomes is by orchestrating periodic, high-volume bursts of eye surgeries at established, well-equipped facilities in fixed locations where Chosen maintains operational control.
Chosen has successfully replicated the environment of surgical suites in the United States at its sites in developing nations, providing our mission patients with the latest technologies and techniques, as performed by Chosen’s highly trained and experienced eye surgeons. This approach allows our mission patients to achieve post-operative outcomes similar to those of patients in the United States.
Chosen employs and sends board-certified missionary ophthalmologists to live and manage day- to-day operations, as well as to train and educate local staff and physicians at each of our locations in developing nations. By working side-by-side with the local community and government authorities, we ensure that our patients receive not only high-quality eye surgery but also outstanding pre-operative and post-operative care.
Our Approach
Chosen stands apart because of our unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional care:
1) We ensure that all eye surgeries are performed by qualified and experienced
ophthalmologists using modern techniques with high-quality supplies and equipment.
2) We offer on-site retinal surgery to address any complications that may arise.
3) We target regions where eye care is scarce, prioritizing countries with little to no access
to quality eye surgery.
4) We offer our services at no cost to the patients, thereby removing financial barriers to care.
5) We provide holistic care, offering spiritual support to patients and their families,
including the opportunity to hear the Gospel, receive prayer, and obtain pastoral follow-up if
requested.
